One of our favourite events to start the holiday season is by going to the Christmas at the Botanics here in Edinburgh. Fortunately, it didn’t rain this year, but it was quite chilly. So, bundle up with your warmest hat, gloves, scarf, and jacket, as we head into Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) to explore some of their beautiful light installations!
While we have enjoyed all the Christmas at the Botanics we have attended (in 2019, 2022, and 2023), I think this year was one of our favourites so far. They had some lovely new lights on display, and we can’t wait to share them with all of you. Of course, this is just a wee glimpse of the event, and we highly recommend you attend in person if possible. Nevertheless, we hope our photos provide a nice break in your day and give you a ‘taste’ of Christmas in Edinburgh!
There were some classic installations on display whose beauty is enduring:
There were also some great new light installations this year. One of our favourites was ‘Mycelium Network’. What a creative way to represent fungi networks through lights!
Here are some more photos to scroll through from throughout the Gardens:
Of course, there are also food and drink stalls set up so you can warm up with a tasty treat.
Well, that’s going to do it for this walkabout around the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. We hope you enjoyed this wee visit. If you are in town this holiday season and looking to light up your evening in a festive and fun way, be sure to check out the RBGE website to book your tickets. The event is running on select evenings until the 30th of December.
