🎶I’m so happy it hurts
I’m so glad, It’s outrageous
I’m so happy it hurts
That stupid grin on my face
Must be some kind of curse🎶
~’So Happy it Hurts’, Bryan Adams
The title song of Bryan Adams' latest album, So Happy It Hurts, is a joyous and positive anthem that we find is a much-needed tonic for these crazy times and it lifts our spirits every time we listen to it. Therefore, when we saw that his ‘Happy’ tour was making a stop at one of our favourite castles- Floors Castle-, we knew that we couldn't pass up the opportunity to see the Canadian music legend in person!
The events at Scottish castles this summer are in full swing, and we’ve been fortunate to take advantage of some incredible opportunities (if you haven’t already, be sure to check out our post on the Jackie Stewart Classic at Thirlestane Castle). This summer, Floors Castle played host to a number of pop and rock acts including Michael Bublé two nights prior to the Bryan Adams concert.
On the evening of our concert, we couldn’t ask for better weather; the view of the Castle as the sun set was stunning. To help make the event even better, Floors Castle brought in a fantastic selection of some of the best food trucks in Scotland- including our friends at the Haggis Box.
We are huge fans of Bryan Adams and were thrilled that he played a mix of new and classic songs. It was a magical night perfected by the exquisite setting- even Bryan commented a few times about how beautiful a location it was. It truly was one of the best concerts we've been to, and Bryan and the band really knew how to get the crowd rocking! The atmosphere was positively electric as the entire crowd sang and danced along. We hope that Bryan Adams as well as other stars return to Floors Castle in the future.
Be sure to also check out Bryan's 'So Happy It Hurts' tour website to see a list of his upcoming shows. We highly recommend you attend if you have the chance!
If you will be in the Scottish Borders this weekend, there is one last upcoming musical extravaganza at Floors Castle to check out. On the 6th of August, the Roxburghe Rocks! event is held from 2:00pm- 9:00pm with tribute bands playing live music from Elton John, Abba, and Queen throughout the day. Guests can also enjoy a variety of food and drink stalls in addition to “bungee trampolines, an all age bouncy castle, crazy golf, face painting and much more to keep you entertained throughout the day”. If you are interested, please head over to their website for more information on how to book your tickets.
